The Prophet Yusuf (Joseph) - Part 1

The 13th Prophet

His childhood

Allah dedicated to the story of Joseph in the Qur'an a whole Surah summarizing his whole story and named it Yousuf.

The little boy Joseph went to his father, told him about a vision in a dream he had seen, and told him that he had seen in a dream eleven planets and the sun and Moon prostrating to him.
The father listened to his son's vision and warned him to tell it to his brothers. Jacob (peace be upon him) realized with his intuition and insight that behind this vision is a great thing for this boy, so he advised him not to tell his visions to his brothers for fear that they would sense what was behind it for their little half-brother. Jacob married a second woman who gave birth to Joseph and his brother. Eblis finds a hole in their souls from this, so their souls are filled with hatred, and they plan something for him to make it worse.
Joseph heeded his father's warning and did not tell his brothers what he saw.

Joseph's brothers gathered to talk about him. We are a powerful group that pays and works; our father is wrong to prefer these two boys to a group of useful men! Someone suggested a solution to the topic; he suggested killing Joseph or throwing him somewhere very far away.
It is hatred and the intervention of Eblis, who magnified their father's love for Joseph and his altruism against them until he made him equate murder with the greatest crimes of the entire Earth after polytheism with Allah and cast him into a distant, remote land synonymous with murder, because he will inevitably die there, and why is all this? So that his father does not see him and forgets him, he directs all his love to them.
One of them said-Allah stirred up his depths with hidden pity, or Allah stirred up in his depths a horror of murder: what is the reason to kill him If you want to get rid of him, let's throw him into a well that the convoys pass by, and a convoy will pick him up and take him away, and from there he will disappear from his father's face and our purpose of removing him will be achieved. the idea of killing was defeated, and the idea of exile and deportation was chosen.
From this, we understand that the brothers, despite their evil and Envy, had in their hearts, or in the hearts of some, some good that has not yet died.

The sons turned to their father, asking him to allow Joseph to accompany them, and the dialogue between them and their father took place with gentleness, subtle reproach, and excitement of feelings.
Is it possible that Joseph is our brother, and you are afraid of him among us and do not trust us with him, and we love him, advise him and take care of him? Why don't you send him to play with us?' In response to the first reprehensible reproach, he made Jacob (peace be upon him) deny indirectly that he did not secure them for him and explain his detention with him by his lack of patience over his separation and his fear of wolves.
So put aside the idea of the wolf that his father is afraid to eat, we are ten men, so do we lose sight of him and we are many?' If that happens, we are not qualified for manhood, the Wolf will not eat him and there is no need to fear for it, so the father agreed under the pressure of his sons.
May Allah's destiny be fulfilled and the story be done as his will requires! The brothers went out with Joseph, and they took him to the desert, and they chose a well from which the passage of caravans does not stop, and they carried him and they pretended to throw him into the well, and Allah revealed to Joseph that he is a survivor, he is not afraid and that he will meet them after this day and tell them what they have done.
At dinner, the children came crying to tell their father the story of the alleged wolf, they told him that they had gone to stay, and a wolf came inattentively and ate Joseph.

They came on his shirt with the false blood of a slaughtered sheep, smeared him with it clumsily and forgot in their emotion to tear Joseph's shirt, so they came up with the shirt as it was intact, but stained with blood.
And their words ended with strong evidence that they were lying when they said you are not sure of what we are saying, even if it is the truth, because you doubt us and are not sure of what we are saying.
Jacob realized from the signs of the situation, from the call of his heart, and from the obvious lie, that Joseph was not eaten by the Wolf, and that they had planned some intrigue for him, and that they were fabricating a story for him that did not happen, so he confronted them that their souls had improved for them something that was denied, humiliated, and made it easier for them to commit it; and that he will be patient, tolerant, beautiful, not alarmed, not panicking, not complaining, using Allah for the tricks and lies they concoct.
While Joseph was at the well, a large caravan passed by him on the way to Egypt, which drove so long that it was named a car, and they stopped for water.
And they sent one of them to the well, and he lowered the vessel into it, and Joseph clung to it , and the one who lowered it thought that it was filled with water, so he pulled it out, and he rejoiced at what he saw, where he saw a boy clinging to the vessel
Joseph became the ruler of the lost things that someone picks up and becomes a slave to the one who picked it up.
Such was the law of that distant time, the one who found him rejoiced in him at first, and then asceticism in him when he thought about his concern and responsibility, and asceticism in him because he found him a small boy and determined to get rid of him upon arrival in Egypt and did not arrive in Egypt until he sold him in the slave market for a small price, a few dirhams.
It was from there that a seemingly important man bought it.
Joseph and the man`s wife, and here is the gentleman who bought Joseph telling his wife to honor his resting place, May it benefit us or take him a son, and this gentleman is not an easy man, but he is an important man, a man from the ruling class in Egypt, we will learn a little later that he is a minister of the King's ministers, a dangerous minister named by the Quran "Aziz", and the ancient Egyptians called adjectives as names for ministers, this Aziz, this faith, this strong, etc.
Thus, Allah enabled Joseph on earth to be raised as a boy in the House of a man who rules, and Allah will teach him to interpret Hadiths and visions, and the king in Egypt will need him one day.

Then the Almighty shows us his generosity to Joseph and says: Joseph was the most beautiful man of his time and the purity of his depths and the purity of his soul which gave his face more beauty and he was given a correct judgment on things and knowledge of life and its conditions and a method of dialogue that conquers the heart of those who listen to him and nobility and chastity, which made him an irresistible human personality.
When his master realized that Allah had honored him by sending Joseph to him, he discovered that Joseph was the most honest, upright, magnanimous and generous person in his life, and his master made him responsible for his home, honored him and treated him as his son.

The wife of al-Aziz was very impressed with the beauty of Joseph, so she tried to seduce him, but she was only ignored, so she was tired of Joseph ignoring her constant hints and his father, so she decided to change her plan.
She went out of the hint to the statement, closed the doors, tore off the masks of modesty, declared her love and demanded him himself.
Then the Quranic context goes beyond the dialogue between Aziz`s Woman and Joseph (peace be upon him), and we can imagine how she tried to seduce him either with her clothes, words or movements, but what interests us here is Joseph's attitude-peace be upon him - from this seduction.
This noble Prophet stands in the face of his lady, saying that it is impossible that I do this with the wife of the one who honored me by saving me from the cowardice and making my good safe resting place in this house, and the wrongdoers who exceed the limits of Allah do not succeed, so they commit what the moment calls me to.
This does not mean that Joseph was devoid of feelings of manliness, and this does not mean that he was in the purity of the Angels and their lack of celebration of sense, but it means that he was subjected to a long temptation that he resisted and never bored himself, and then his piety was pacified by the fact that he was familiar with the proof of his Lord, knowing that he was Joseph the son of Jacob the Prophet, the son of Isaac the Prophet, the son of Abraham, the grandfather of the prophets and the merciful.
It seems that Yusuf (peace be upon him) chose to leave heading to the door so that the matter would not develop further, but Aziz`s woman followed him to hold him, driven by lust, so she grabbed his shirt from behind, and it tore in her hand.

Here, the surprise and the opening of the door are interrupted by her husband Aziz, and here the completed woman appears, finding the answer present to the intuitive question that the situation poses.
She says: accusing Joseph, the punishment for those who want to do bad things should be death by imprisonment or murder, and this woman-lover- quickly suggested the punishment-safe-to be carried out on Joseph, fearing that Aziz would kill him out of anger, and she showed Aziz one that the best punishment for him is imprisonment.
After this false accusation and quick judgment, Joseph spoke the truth to defend himself when he said: rather, she was the one who tried to seduce me and get me wrong, bypassing the Quranic context, the husband replied, but he explained how Joseph - peace be upon him - was acquitted of this false accusation: we do not know if the witness was accompanying the husband from the beginning or did the dear one call him after the incident to take his opinion on what the Quran says that the witness ordered them to look at the shirt, if it was torn from the front, then this is from the effect of her defending him and he wants to attack her, she is sincere and he is a liar. and if his shirt is torn from behind, then it is from the effect of his escaping from her and her following him to the door; she is a liar and he is sincere.
The husband was sure of his wife's betrayal when he saw Yusuf's shirt torn from behind, but the blood did not stir in his veins, he did not scream and did not get angry, and the values of the high class in which the incident occurred forced him to face the situation tactfully and gently and attributed what he did to the malice of women in general, and stated that the malice of women in general is great, and so he would do it as if it were a praise to be paid. And we do not think that it is bad for a woman to be told that kidkin is a sign that she is a complete female who fulfills the female's ability to kid. Then the husband turned to Joseph and said to him: Yusuf, go away from this, neglect this topic and do not pay attention to it and do not talk about it. The first incident ended, but the strife did not end, so the master of the House did not separate the woman and her girl, all he asked was to close the conversation on this topic, but this particular topic and this is difficult to achieve in a palace full of servants, maids, advisers and bridesmaids.
The news began to spread and went out from the palace to the palaces of the upper class at that time, and the women of this class found an appetizing material for conversation, as the absence of meaning in the life of these classes, and their spending to have fun, gave him paramount importance over the scandals associated with famous personalities.
And when the dear woman heard what the upper-class women were saying about her, she decided to prepare a big banquet in the palace and prepared pillows so that the invitees would lean on her and chose the types of food and drink and ordered that sharp knives be placed next to the food provided and invited everyone she talked about and while they were busy cutting meat or peeling fruit, she surprised them with Joseph and said get in front of them, when they saw him, they tanned and cut their hands with knives, to their sudden surprise, my god, this is not a human being, this is an angel. The woman saw that she had triumphed over the women of her class, and that they were surprised, impressed, and amazed by Joseph's countenance.
